Ben Nimmo is research director at Graphika, a New York-based social media analytics company. He specializes in the analysis of online disinformation and of actions designed to influence individuals across different platforms around the world. From 2016 to 2019, he was a founding member of the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab), where he studied electoral interference, particularly surrounding elections in the United States (2016), France and Germany (2017), Brazil and Mexico (2018) and India (2019).
Having lead a varied career, Nimmo was first a scuba diving instructor, a traveling writer, and a journalist between 2004 and 2011, including as an EU and NATO correspondent for the German news agency DPA and a press officer for NATO until 2014. He then worked for the Institute for Statecraft in London. He is based in the UK.
