“Politicians and media institutions, beyond all reason, share the heavy responsibility of reducing citizens’ exposure to “the political question”. This tendency originates from the supposed (and gradually proven) aversion of a large part of the public to political issues. Politicians, in order to spare their electorate; the media, in order to spare their audiences, have been led, gradually and insidiously, to marginalize the channels by which political information is communicated to the “general public”. [...] We must encourage information by promoting the pleasure of knowing, and above all the pleasure of understanding.”
